Theresa VanderMeer
Theresa works best when wearing multiple hats at one time, which is why she serves as President of the US Team + Executive Director of the India Team. Her main priority is to ensure that everyone at WORK+SHELTER is valued + supported. Her leadership, communication + constant collaboration with her team is what makes this NGO possible!
Allyson Dykhuizen
Allyson has been a large helper + long-time supporter of WORK+SHELTER. As Vice President of the US Team, she helps brainstorm ideas of how we can support the WORK+SHELTER women in many ways, including their health, well-being, education and leadership development. Having been to India multiple times, she has been able to assist in developing those ideas into enjoyable activities for the WORK+SHELTER women!
Jorel Van Os
Jorel has been around since the very beginning, playing a large role in helping start WORK+SHELTER. Now, as Treasurer, he manages all of the donations that come through, making sure the money is both accounted for and organized. He is a tax wiz when it comes to filing our taxes each year!
Nitu Choudhary
Nitu, a true ray of sunshine, works as a Managing Trustee on the India Team. She works directly with the WORK+SHELTER women, in the center helping to coordinate trainings for new employees, as well as organizing different health screenings, educational trips + leadership development opportunities for the WORK+SHELTER women.
Kavita Sabharwal
Kavita, having had a large hand in starting WORK+SHELTER, works as Settler + Managing Trustee on the India Team, where she is responsible for fielding any inquiries we receive from women looking to join WORK+SHELTER. She spends her days making sure the WORK+SHELTER women are feeling safe, supported + most importantly, making them smile!
